When I'm finding new blogs to read, I always wonder about a few questions...so I will answer the questions I've always wanted to ask...
Why did you start the blog?
I started the blog to share all the handmade things that I make. Friends and family are always in awe but really don't understand the struggle...LOL I wanted to share my talent with fellow crafters that understand the time it takes, the love that's put into it, the anguish that's achieved throughout the process, and who of course can appreciate the finished project. I also want to share different techniques, new products on the market, quick and functional projects, and provide tutorials on patterns that we all have bought but then are intimidated by the instructions. Some patterns are so hard to figure out that we put them aside and never pick them back up. I want to "de-mystify" those daunting pattern instructions and embrace those patterns that we've all tended to shy away from.
How did you come up with the name of your blog?
The name of my blog is Stacy V - Handmade Affairs. Who doesn't want their name in lights, right?...so that part is easy to explain...LOL The Handmade Affairs part came from my love of the handmade items that I produce. Each an every time I make something, I am totally obsessed with the process and the end result...sort of like an "affair". An affair (according to dictionary.com) is "an intense amorous relationship, usually of short duration". When I start a project, an intense relationship begins, it lasts a short duration during the process and then ends when the project is complete. The cycle starts all over again...when the next project pops into my head!
What's up with the logo?
I am truly a "Night Owl"...so how fitting an owl would be. I am definitely not a morning person but I will stay up all night crafting, watching TV and answering work emails. I like to relax during the day but get it cranking around 10p at night. I don't know what it is...I've always been that way. I think once everything quiets down and there's nothing else I would like to stick my nose into...that's when it's time to work. I get my best work done in the wee hours of the morning!
Hope you enjoy my posts and take pleasure in the adventures of handmade affairs!
Until next time,
Stacy V
